Best strap-on harnesses

Comfy, sexy harnesses for women

How did we pick our favourite strap-on harnesses?

There are a wide range of harnesses on the market, but we picked harnesses that are user-friendly, comfortable and sexy. All of the harnesses we recommend allow you to explore lots of positions and possibilities, without little annoyances like drooping dildos or strap rash.best_double_strapon.jpg

The strap-on harnesses we've chosen are all o-ring harnesses. They are our favourite because they work with a wide range of dildos: in fact, pretty much any dildo that has a flared base. (Check out What is a strap-on for more info about this).

Our favourite harnesses are also 'vegetarian': we would recommend that you think very carefully before you get a leather harness. There's heaps of them on the market, but I can't see why! After a sweaty night with your sweetie, you can't toss a leather harness into the wash.

The Corsette Harness - glam and girly

If you want something a little Moulin Rouge, you can't go past the vibrating corsette harness.

It's not only comfy, it's sexy. While many other harnesses are Communist-Russia-functional, this harness is very Tipping the Velvet. The beautiful design flatters the female bottom, encircling it like a heart.

It comes with several different sizes of o-rings so you can use it with different sized dildos. The double-strap design is comfortable and leaves your sweet spot open for business.

It also comes with a little mini-vibe bullet that you slip into a pouch, which sends mild, enjoyable waves of vibrations through the wearer and down the dildo into your lover.

Our one complaint is that, in some positions, you can feel the bullet pressing against you (the wearer). Also, the straps are way too long - you'll have to get out the scissors and give them a trim. More info.

The Joque Harness - hot to trot!

The Joque harness is, without a doubt, the best harness we've owned. Unfortunately, at around $120, it's also the most expensive! (You can sometimes get them cheaper online - Check Amazon for deals.)

The material is insanely comfy: it's lined, stretchy and sensual. It really does feel like a second skin. The double-strap design is comfy and secure. It will fit a range of body sizes too, which is good if you and your woman are different shapes.

The o-ring is best with dildos 1.25 to 2 inches in diameter, so it will work with small dildos, making this a great choice for beginners.

(Update: we recently saw the Joque on an episode of "The Crash Pad". And if it's good enough for those girls...!)

We got this harness because friends had told us it works really well with the Feeldoe. And yes, it works like a charm. It helps keep the feeldoe in place, which I know sort of defeats the purpose of a strapless strap-on, but it's fun anyway. More info

The vid below shows how you can use the harness with your Feeldoe and other dildos.

The RodeoH Harness - designed by women

The RodeoH brand is woman-owned and operated. And right away, you're looking at a super-comfy, intelligent harness. Unlike the previous harnesses, this is not a double-strap. It is, instead, just a pair of comfy undies - with a added benefit. As you can see, the front panel has an o-ring hole. You can slide a dildo into the front pocket, and you're ready to go - no straps, nothing more to do. The best thing is you can wear the RodeoH under your normal clothes. In fact, they're so comfy you might want to wear them just as normal underwear!

The RodeoH hole is best suited to dildos of 1.5 to 2 inches diameter. I would suggest the hole is a tad too big to use with a very small dildo. (The Tantus Silk, for example, is just a bit too small for this harness). Really big dildos are not going to fit either. We use it with the Tantus Acute Dildo and that's perfect.

Also, it won't last you forever (that's why they're often sold four to a pack). After a year or so, the o-ring hole will start to stretch because it's not reinforced with metal - but that's the price you pay for comfort!

Be aware that, unlike the double-strap harnesses, your naughty bits are not 'open for business', but the RodeoH looks great and it's soooo easy to use. If you can handle it, try it with the vibrating Buzz dildo (pictured left). Too fun. More info
